Common questions
The speaking task can't hear me
TestReady needs your microphone. On iPhone: Settings → TestReady → turn on Microphone. On Android: Settings → Apps → TestReady → Permissions → Microphone → Allow. On the website, click the lock or mic icon next to the web address and allow the microphone, then reload the page.
Listening audio won't play
Turn the volume up and, on iPhone, check the silent switch on the side of the phone is off. A weak connection can also stop the audio loading, so try again on Wi-Fi. If it still won't play, send us a message below and tell us which test and question it was.
How long does marking take?
Reading and listening are marked straight away. Writing and speaking are marked by the AI examiner, usually in a minute or two. You can leave the screen: we'll send a notification when your marks are ready.
How close are the scores to the real test?
The AI examiner marks against the official band descriptors for each test, so treat scores as a close estimate rather than an official result. On the real day you may score up to half a band either side, so aim a little above your target.
I've subscribed but Premium isn't showing
Pull down on the Account screen to refresh. In the iPhone or Android app, open the Premium screen and tap Restore purchase. If it still doesn't show after a few minutes, send us a message below with the email on your receipt and we'll sort it.
How do I cancel?
If you subscribed in the iPhone app, cancel in iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions. If you subscribed in the Android app, cancel in the Play Store → your profile → Payments & subscriptions. If you subscribed on the website, cancel on your Account page there. You keep Premium until the end of the period you've paid for.
Can I use TestReady on my phone and my computer?
Yes. Sign in with the same email on both and your progress, marks and study plan follow you.
Can someone help me apply to study abroad?
TestReady is made by Nexus Education Group, who help students in Pakistan with university applications and visas. In your profile, tick "A Nexus counsellor can contact me" and add your phone number, and a counsellor will get in touch.
